Merchandise

I know many will be asking about our inventory or merchandise. Where does it come from? For starters, Georgie's will solely rely on used or almost new merchandise from garage sales. The Houston area is a garage sale haven. They seem to start on Thursdays and run through Sundays. By 6:30 AM beginning on Thursdays I, Mrs. Georgie AKA Garage Sale Queen set off to a strategic area somewhere in the Houston area and hit garage sales. Now by strategic I am not implying a secret place. True garage salers share their "secret" spots unlike fisherman who take their best fishing spot to the grave. I plan my garage sale shopping strategy around the volume of garage sales in a certain area. I determine this by the number of garage sales posted on craigslist and in the Houston Chronicle or other Houston area newspapers. Most often I usually wind up somewhere between Friendswood and League City. I have garage-saled in Alvin, Sugarland and in the Heights area of Houston. I will stick to an area in close proximity to my shop so that I can make it in time to open up at 10AM sharp. At some point, Georgies may take consignments. It will all depend on how fast the merchandise moves and obviously requests from our customers.
